New York-born musician Morgan rose to fame as the frontman of The Fun Lovin’ Criminals, who found particular success in the UK with three top 10 albums and eight top 40 singles. Morgan stepped down from the group in late 2021. In a statement at the time, the remaining members wished him “all the best with his endeavours” and said they would “continue as Fun Lovin’ Criminals”.

However, in 2023, he would criticise the current lineup on social media, describing them as “frauds and cowards” as well as being a “tribute act”.

During his radio career, Morgan caused controversy in 2012 by criticising fellow 6 Radio DJ Lauren Laverne, calling himself “the people’s champ” and saying Laverne “just shows up and plays on Twitter”. He would later apologise to the presenter for his comments.

This year, he published his autobiography, The Fun Lovin’ Criminal, which charted the rise of the band, Morgan’s struggles with mental health, and stories from ‘90s New York. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive, praising his honesty and authentic voice.
