The Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo has been immune to deals and discounts before today. Unlike the Switch 2 Legend of Zelda and Street Fighter 6 figures, the Donkey Kong Bananza NFC-collectible has never shifted from its full price, which makes this limited deal I spotted over at Amazon more a-peel-ing than ever.
For a limited time, you can pick up the Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo for $19.99 (Amazon), saving $10 off its full $29.99 price for the very first time. You won't be able to pick up this smashing Switch 2 accessory in time for the holidays, with Amazon clearly stating in its big red scary text that it will "arrive after Christmas." But if there is one amiibo I'd recommend you grab out of the bunch of figures released this year, regardless of whether it's Christmas or not, this would be it.

Donkey Kong & Pauline DK Series amiibo | $29.99 $19.99 at AmazonSave $10 - As of typing, Amazon US states that it's already sold 52% off this Donkey Kong and Pauline amiibo, which sees the adorable little songstress clinging onto DK's back just like in the game. You can tap this on your right Joy-Con to unlock Paulina's diva dress, but its large size and lovely details make it a great piece of Donkey Kong Bananza merch for fans in its own right.UK: £16.99 at Nintendo
View DealJust like all amiibo, this Donkey Kong and Pauline figure is worth picking up even if you don't yet have a copy of Donkey Kong Bananza for your Nintendo Switch 2. The amiibo is one of my favorites from the over 900 figures out there down to its sculpt alone, which perfectly replicates how DK and the adorable little Pauline look in the game.
The details are immense, and even Pauline's teeny tiny freckles, and the scrunchie in her hair are represented, and not a lick of paint that's out of place. One of my favorite details has to be the texture on DK's iconic red tie, which from a distance, makes it stand out more despite how small it is compared to DK's big stature. Just like the Twilight Princess amiibo (another one of my favourites), Nintendo added the extra detail of including a rocky base beneath their feet, which feels entirely fitting as most of my time with Bananza was spent desimating the crumbling terrain of each and every sub-layer I came across.
If you're a Donkey Kong fan and are pretty privy to collecting DK toys and merch, the now $19.99 toy is a great piece of merchandise, even without its integrated NFC tech. Of course, it also unlocks content in the game if you happen to own a copy (and a Switch 2), including Pauline's sparkly red Diva dress, and some gold 'KONG' letters which explode upon impact.
Over half of Amazon's allocation for the amiibo has been claimed, so I recommend adding one to your basket as soon as you can if you don't want to be disappointed. Remember, all the previous Donkey Kong amiibo are compatible with Donkey Kong Bananza if you're just after some fun unlocks.

I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
