Democratic Rep. Maxwell Frost said he was assaulted at the Sundance Film Festival, where a man told him Trump would deport him and punched him in the face before running away.
"Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay. Thank you to the venue security and Park City PD for assistance on this incident," the lawmaker said in a social media publication.

Park City Police Department said the individual in question, Christian Young, "unlawfully entered a private party after previously being turned away for not having an invitation" and attacked both Frost and another woman. He was then booked into jail on charges of simple assault and aggravated burglary.
A report from Varitety about the incident noted that Young had also told people in the bathroom that he is proud to be white.
The festival also reacted, saying: "We strongly condemn last night's assault and abhor any form of violence, harassment, and hate speech. While the incident occurred at a non-Festival-affiliated event, such behavior is intolerable and against our values of upholding a welcoming and inspiring environment for all our attendees."
Democratic House leader Hakeem Jeffries also reacted, saying in a social media publication that he was "horrified by the attack" and "appalled that this terrifying assault took place," also calling for the perpetrator to be "aggressively prosecuted."
"Hate and political violence has no place in our country, and the entire House Democratic Caucus family stands with Maxwell."
