AOC Calls For Impeachment Of Pam Bondi Over Arrest Of Don Lemon, 'Epstein, And Her Attempted Extortion Of MN Voter Files'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for the impeachment of Attorney General Pam Bondi over a series of events that have shaken the political landscape over the past month.

In a social media publication, she detailed that they are: the handling of the Epstein files, the arrest of former CNN anchor Don Lemon and others over the covering of a protest in a church in Minnesota and the "attempted extortion of MN voter files."

"Bondi should be up for impeachment too," she said, in reference to Democrats' ongoing effort to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

In her post, Bondi described Lemon's actions as part of "coordinated attacks on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota."

Lemon was released on Friday after being charged by the Trump administration with violating the freedom of religion of worshippers at the church where he was covering a protest.

Now an independent journalist, Lemon was released on a personal recognizance bond. "I will not stop ever," he said after the incident.

"The First Amendment of the Constitution protects that work for me and for countless other journalists. I will not be silenced," he added. One of his lawyers, Marilyn Bednarski, said his client plans to plead not guilty.

The Trump administration tried to keep Lemon in detention, but a federal judge determined that it lacked probable cause to arrest him under the federal statute, which a DOJ official said was never used in the context of a protest at a church, according to NBC News.

"This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand. Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court," said Lemon's main defense attorney, Abbe Lowell.

"Instead of investigating the federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of wrongdoing in this case," he added.
